Skincare Sunday: Origins Zero Oil Cleanser

Hi there!
Since I decided my old skincare routine just wasn't cutting it I've purchased a few new products and have been really enjoying a couple in particular! Origins is a brand I have always loved and I think everything about their products is just so lovely! I'd heard a lot about the Zero Oil cleaner before and decided to give it a whirl after seeing so many positive comments and (yay for me) I'm so glad I did!

One of the key ingredients in the cleanser is mint so it's super soothing on blemish breakout prone skin and also smells amazing too! I usually use this as part of my morning skincare routine and it leaves my skin feeling amazingly clean and looking brighter and healthier too so it's perfect to use before applying make up! My skin can get very oily throughout the day but I find that this product really helps to keep it at bay and leaves my skin feeling better for longer. Origins only use natural ingredients so if you have sensitive skin I think this would definitely still be great for you because there is nothing too harsh or stripping in it at all. My skin overall has improved a lot since changing a few of the products I'm using on a day to day basis and I would definitely say this is one that has had the most impact on my skins condition! It retails at £18 which although may be a little more expensive is definitely worth splurging that bit more on.
Let me know if you've tried any origins products, after loving this one so much I definitely want to look into more!

Easter Sunday Nails

Hi there!

I think I speak for most people when I say that today will be a day of chocolate eating and relaxing, yay for Easter! For those who celebrate it I hope you have a lovely day and for those who don't I hope you have an equally lovely Sunday regardless. This weekend I decided to try out one of the Barry M spring collection colours which I have been wanting ever since their release (3 pastel shades, cute silver bottle lids, what more could I ask for??)

I chose the shade Huckleburry after seeing plenty of bloggers rave about this and I can see why! Opaque in just two coats and only £3.99 makes it my new go-to Spring nail polish colour. I was a bit worried after buying it that it would be too similar to another Barry M colour that I have in the shade Blue Moon but I find Huckleburry to be more pigmented which is perfect for all you impatient girls like me who hate applying coat after coat of polish to get a just about opaque end result. I might even have to pop back to Boots and pick up the other two shades...

Have you tried any of the Barry M spring collection shades?

Beauty Battle: drugstore liquid liner

Hi there!

Liquid liner became part of my everyday make up look about a year ago and during that time I’ve tried about 15489 different liners (slight exaggeration, what I’m trying to say is I’ve tested a lot). I thought I’d do a post today comparing a couple of the eyeliners I’ve found to work best for me in the hope that it will help anyone else still on the hunt for the perfect one!

Liquid liner has never exactly been my forte and I struggle on a daily basis to get the wings even and not looking ridiculously wonky (so far I’m still fighting a losing battle *sighs*). The Supercat liner from Soap and Glory has made my daily attempts at liquid liner SO MUCH EASIER and I no longer have to sit for 10 minutes each morning (internally) crying at a black smudged line across my eyelid. The nib of this liner is really thin and precise meaning it's far easier to control the line your creating and a thin classic line can be easily drawn as well as a thicker more dramatic flick :) I absolutely love the packaging of soap and glory too so this is definitely a winner for me! It's also a really affordable product (£6.00) and 100% the best liquid eyeliner I've tried and makes applying it so much easier!

Next up is the ScandalEyes liner from Rimmel which is even more affordable £5.49! When I first bought this product I loved it however as it started to dry up the nib was far more difficult to work with. It is far thicker than the Supercat liner so it's a little more difficult to create thin lines but the black is very intense and so does create a really dramatic look! I think if you're looking for a cheaper liquid liner then this one would do the job but I definitely found this to dry up quite quickly so I probably won't be repurchasing. The staying power of this liner is probably a 8/10 and I did find it to last most of the day without budging which makes it even more impressive for how affordable it is.

Let me know if there are liquid liners you've tried from the drugstore and loved; I'd love to try some more!

I was feeling super organised last night (first time for everything) and decided to plan out all my posts for next month as I have my AS exams and so will be veryyyyy busy when I realised I have only ever done 1 tag on my blog! I've seen about a million different versions of the TMI tag on youtube over the past couple of months and it seems like a really fun tag so I thought I'd give it a go too :) I haven't answered all of the questions because the tag is soooo long but hopefully you enjoy reading my answers anyway!

the new love: dusky t bars

Hi there!

Since exam season is now looming (even typing the word exam is making me cry inside a little) I've been trying to organise revision, learn notes and plan essays so I've had very little time for myself! As it's now the Easter holidays I decided to go on a bit of a shopping spree and do a teensy bit of retail therapy to relax before I go into full revision mode (so far it hasn't exactly gone to plan..)! I didn't actually pick up that much but one of the items that I have completely fallen in love with are these dusky pink/nude T bar shoes from Office.

My shoe collection is very limited and I felt like I needed a pair that were a bit more spring appropriate to style with outfits now as the sun is around more and more *dances around room happily*. If you read my last wishlist post (which you can see HERE) you'll know I was lusting over some very similar shoes from River Island so I'm so glad to finally have some that I like even more! Originally these shoes are priced at £48 which I think is fairly reasonable but I found a 20% off voucher in this months Company Magazine (I quite literally squealed when I saw this) and  so this made the purchase even more inevitable! I love the the muted colour and the adorable cutouts of these T bars and am definitely going to be wearing them throughout spring and summer. I've so far styled them with a monochrome gingham miniskirt and white collared shirt and it's safe to say, I'M IN LOVE.

Marc Jacobs Daisy

Hi there!

I was never really a perfume person until last year when I recieved a few for my birthday and Christmas and since then I've become obsessed with all things fragrance! I don't think I've ever mentioned perfumes on my blog before but when I was planning some Spring inspired posts, Marc Jacobs 'Daisy' came to mind as the ultimate Spring fragrance. It's possibly the most instagramable perfume bottle ever (and lets be honest who doesn't love a pretty instagram post!?) as well as smelling  absolutely incredible! The scent is described as having violet heart notes and wild strawberry top notes and is overall just a very pretty fragrance.

I've been wearing this perfume so much recently because it's super light and fresh so it's ideal as the weather starts to get a bit warmer (I say a bit, I don't want to be too optimistic). I find it perfect for any occassion but it's my go to fragrance for college because it's not too heavy and overpowering whilst still being noticeable! Let me know in the comments your favourite perfumes because I really want to expand my collection :)
